District Governor Message
As I am penning down this message, a saying by Maya Angelou keeps coming to me “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them
All the years that I have spent as a part of our rotary family, we have done a lot of work regarding social awareness, sanitation, health benefits, recreational camps and a lot more which one cannot completely recall, however what I can recall is the immense happiness, satisfaction and joy it gave us while doing each and every work.
The reward of our hard work was always reflected in the smiles of those who have benefited from it.
It is this feeling which inspires and motivates us to do better work every year and to strive to achieve new levels of excellency. The level of commitment and dedication from each member of this family has always been
commendable and I hope it continues in the coming year too.
As Eleanor Roosevelt said, “To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart”, maybe this is why even after all these years we have still maintained the family like environment in our district. It has
always been inspiring to see you all working collectively with such enthusiasm and passion to help us achieve our goal, no matter how difficult and time testing it had been.
The RI theme of this year is BE THE INSPIRATION, but it has dawned on me that this theme has always been the underlying factor in each and every action of ours. Through our work we have always tried to not only INSPIRE OTHERS but have also found some way or the other TO BE INSPIRED so that the zeal within us to constantly work for a BETTER WORLD never goes out.
Lastly, I thank you all for always being present with me, no matter what the circumstances have been and hope you all continue to do so. Together we shall make the coming Rotary Year the most inspirational one.
